Jonny’s Path to Crypto
Jonny is a new member of Crew 3.
Jonny got interested in crypto during his time working for WeWork Labs, where he met people who were involved in web 3 and crypto.
He started buying Ethereum and Bitcoin in 2019 and has been pleased with the growth of the industry since then.
Jonny joined Crew 3 because he believes in its community-driven approach, which aligns with his experience in building communities for web 2 companies over the past 10-12 years.
Sartaj’s Path to Crypto
Sartaj got into crypto in early 2020 and traded his first coin.
Made some money and this got him interested in understanding the building blocks of crypto and the different niches within the industry, such as DeFi and NFTs.
Joining crypto Twitter was a turning point for Sartaj as he saw many big brains making moves in the industry in a short span of time.
Became hooked on crypto and has been following the industry closely ever since.
ZKX x Crew 3
The partnership between ZKX and Crew 3 has been in the works for about a couple of months.
ZKX is a perpetual futures DEX on Starknet that offers self-custodial trading with a decentralized order book and DAO governance.
The partnership with Crew 3, which is community-driven, was an obvious choice for ZKX, and since then, Crew 3 has exploded and become a hub for big projects.
Crew 3 is focused on building strong foundations across the community, partnerships, and contributors in Web3.
Crew 3 has a program called CM360 that will enable community managers in Web3 to connect and collaborate, and they are also focused on building a massive Web3 community globally.
Crew 3 is always looking to deliver value and product-market fit for their partners.
ZKX’s Community Incentive Program
ZKX's community incentives program is a gamified universe called the ZKX Yakuza, which combines three programs: the ambassador program, the contributor program, and testnet.
The hierarchy of the program places the protocol at the head of the family, with three streams of contribution: short-term contributors, long-term contributors, and those who want to try out the testnet.
The goal of the program is to create a wide scope of contribution for anyone who wants to contribute to ZKX's growth and development.
In exchange for contributing, participants receive attractive rewards such as Yakuza NFTs, token rewards, and merchandise.
The program is a win-win for both ZKX and contributors.
ZKX Merch
ZKX and Crew 3 have curated a box full of ZKX and Yakuza-themed merch for their community incentives program.
There will be a QR code slipped into all of the merch boxes, and participants should scan the code and hold onto it until the end of the Community Incentive Program.
ZKX Contributor Program
To get started with ZKX's Community Incentive Program on Crew 3, one needs to join ZKX's Discord and go through a simple verification process to get an OG 4 role.
Then you can connect your Discord account to ZKX's dashboard on Crew 3 and start completing quests to climb up the leaderboard.
The program runs until May 15th, with monthly sprints in February, March, and April.
Top contributors will receive rewards in the form of Yakuza-themed NFTs, tokens, and merch, with special QR codes included in the merch.

How is Crew 3 Different From Its Competitors?
Crew 3 is built from a place of fun and focuses on sustainable community engagement rather than short-term campaigns.
The platform provides analytics to detect superstars in the community and improve the quest funnel.
Crew 3 is designed to offer as much freedom as possible for community managers and projects to set out on their own adventures.
It is very important to speak to the community members to understand their needs and develop community market fit.
The platform will soon offer more on-chain rewards, on-chain conditions to access quests, and better algorithms to discover new communities.
Jonny describes Crew 3 as a blank canvas that can fit in with brand values and expectations, with the goal of creating momentum in the community through partnerships, sprints, and surprise elements.
Almost 2000 projects use Crew 3, including web 3 gaming and fashion DeFi, and the platform aims to serve the needs of both project leads and contributors.
Projects That Have Maximized the Potential of Crew 3
Top projects on Crew 3 include Sui Name Service, The Hundreds, and Cyber Verse.
It is important to gather feedback from community managers and contributors in order to ensure community market fit.
Crew 3 obtains feedback in different ways such as weekly calls with projects and surveys.
The platform offers CM 360, a 12-week program to coach community managers on best practices and bring in guest speakers.
Agility and building from the bottom up are important.
It is important to create a narrative flow within Quest boards.
Encourages those looking to build a Quest board to seek inspiration from other projects on Crew 3 and emphasizes the benefits of sharing ideas within the community.
CM 360 includes weekly walkthroughs from community managers to showcase their Quest boards and share insights.
What Is the one challenge in community building that is often overlooked but is actually a significant factor in building successful communities?
Jonny:
Suggests that a genuine community is important and should not be treated like a sales funnel.
Emphasizes the significance of the initial key members and the need to build a culture and get their buy-in.
The focus should be on quality in the early days, and there should be opportunities for members to have extended lifetime value and bring in new members.
Additionally, Jonny suggests tying numbers to feedback and measuring both qualitative and quantitative data to assess the community's success.
Sartaj:
Has established a weekly ritual for their community to come together at the same time and place each week.
However, the biggest challenge is in managing feedback from the community.
While it is important to collect feedback and make everyone feel heard, it can be difficult to filter through all the feedback and identify which suggestions to implement and which to set aside.
The challenge is to balance community input with the community's goals and objectives to ensure the community remains sustainable.
Emphasizes the importance of making everyone feel heard and acknowledged, while also prioritizing the community's long-term success.
ZKX Crew 3 Quests
The Crew3 Quests will last until May 15th, and the top 2,500 contributors to the ZKX Crew 3 dashboard will get the OG 2 role, while the top 500 will get the OG 1 role.
There are also monthly sprints with 10 merch boxes given out to the top 10 questers at the end of each month.
Jonny gave a quick demo on Monday (20th Feb,23) to take the community through the ZKX Crew 3 dashboard and deep dive into the CM 360 program.
